Lamar Odom Reportedly Not in Rehab

According to Sporting News and TMZ:

When it comes to knowing what’s going on in Lamar Odom’s life the answers are far from clear.

Such is the case in the latest bit of Odom reporting from TMZ which says that the free agent veteran has not checked into rehab for a drug problem contradicting what People.com reported a day earlier.

Odom reportedly has received an ultimatum from wife Khloe Kardashian that he seek treatment or see his marriage end but TMZ notes that Kardashian has heard nothing from her husband in recent days.

It’s not surprising to see conflicting reports about whether Odom is or is not in rehab. It may be in Odom’s best interest for others not to know if he is so he can seek treatment in peace and get the most out of the experience.

Or maybe Odom is still battling internal demons and has not decided to enter rehab yet. Either way Odom’s story continues to be one of sadness.

A-Rod of Yankees said that Kobe was Considering Retirement

Yet, Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez told reporters Saturday that Bryant told him the pain in his right knee and ankle felt so overwhelming that he considered retiring. That is, until an innovative procedure in Germany this off-season on both his right knee and left ankle fixed everything.

Bryant “was really adamant about how great the procedure was for him,” Rodriguez told reporters. “I know that he was hurting before, almost even thinking about retirement, that’s how much pain he was under. And then he said after he went to Germany he felt like a 27-year-old again. I was still a little apprehensive about it and he kept staying on me about it.”

In other news involving NBA big men, a source said Wednesday that Minnesota continues to pursue a possible trade for Lakers forward Pau Gasol, dangling rookie Derrick Williams, who is from the Los Angeles area, and draft choices. The only players considered untouchable by the Timberwolves, who are seeking to add a veteran by the trade deadline, are Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. The Timberwolves believe it could be enticing for Gasol to play on the same team as fellow Spaniard Rubio.

The NYDaily News also confirms that J.R. Smith will soon be a knick.

According to Frank Isola:

The Knicks are closing in on a deal to sign free agent shooting guard J.R. Smith, the Daily News has learned. Smith began the season in China, but has been eyeing a return to the NBA once the lockout ended.

Smith’s agent, Leon Rose, met with Garden Chairman James Dolan following Wednesday’s Knicks’ win over Sacramento to finalize a contract. It is believed that Smith, who has also attracted the interest of the Clippers, will receive the Knicks’ $2.5 million exception.

 

Lakers and Mavs with rough starts! 2-0

With the first two games of the season wrapped up, two of the top teams have lost both of there games.  The Lakers… welll, these should sum it up..

The Mavs, last year’s NBA champs, are looking out of shape and old.  They have been blown out their first two games against the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.
